Dear Golden Girls,
I just started photographing weddings and my feet are killing me! Standing for 10+ hours is not something I'm used to. At the end of the night I can barely walk. What do you recommend? I don't think it professional to wear my cross trainers at a wedding, but they are the only comfortable shoes I have.
Sincerely,
Swollen Sally
Dear Swollen Sally,
Oh, we've been there! I've made the mistake of wearing new boots to a wedding and my poor feet were a blistered mess for a week after. Of course, you want to look professional and polished when you're shooting weddings... but standing all day can really do a number on your feet. Don't worry, though... there are some great options in the shoe world! You can be professional and comfortable at the same time!
- Toms: Mostly comfortable, made with breathable fabrics that keep your feet dry and pretty darn cute.
- Hush Puppies: Super comfortable, many styles to choose from.
- Born: Ballet Flats are super comfy, handmade, stylish.
- Frye: Most Comfortable boots, super cute
We also recommend packing a pair of flip flops with your gear or leaving a pair in your car. We can't tell you how many times we've hobbled back to the car after a long day and threw those suckers on for some immediate relief.
Hope that helps!
Xoxo!
