The ladies of the Golden Girls Workshop Alumni are doing a 12 week, Weekly Challenge featuring a different rule of composition each week. We are so excited to to push ourselves to photograph every day life in a new way. Next Weeks Theme is COLOR!
Last month we held our 2nd Golden Getaway, a photography retreat, in a real life log cabin in Running Springs, Ca. This 2 day retreat was jam packed with so much good stuff! We chatted about photographer life, our struggles, our successes and bonded over snacks and oh the rain! The weather has not been our friend at our retreats thus far but somehow that makes them more special. We shot in the rain, we used prisms, and used our creative juices putting together our dessert table. Our stylized bride and groom shoot was in the woods, and the sun peeked out and gave us just enough time to shoot these gorgeous models. We all went to dinner at a local spot "Blondies" and it was a great night. The next morning after a yummy breakfast we dived right into culling and editing techniques and spent the rest of the morning doing one on one portfolio and website reviews. We hope that you ladies all had a great time and honestly we can't wait to do it all over again! Please enjoy all these amazing photos these talented ladies shared with us. <3 <3 <3

In early July, Golden Girls hosted a photowalk in Downtown LA. We met at beautiful Union Station. We started by exploring Union Station, including the gardens and the Bus transit plaza. Union Station opened more than 75 years ago and from here, you can take trains as far as Chicago, Seattle or New Orleans and they have awesome names like Sunset Limited and Coast Starlight. The architecture left nothing to be desired. Union Station has been featured in films like Blade Runner and the music video for Happy by Pharrell Williams.
After visiting the train station, we walked to Olvera Street. The first settlers of LA resided near Olvera Street. Here, you can find the oldest house in LA, and a shady, tree lined market with lots of vendors selling crafts and great restaurants. We finished our Photo Walk with lunch and margaritas. Come join us for our next photo walk! Its always good to shoot for yourself and continue exploring your creative side with no limits.

Our next Golden Girls retreat is happening very soon! Mark your calendars and plan to join us July 18th & 19th in gorgeous Running Springs, CA!
We have an exciting two days planned packed full of photography education, bonding, business talk and, of course, a stylized shoot in the woods! Eek! (Did we mention S'mores?)
Accommodations:
The cabin accommodates 5 people. Each person will be provided a bed, blankets and towels. This is shared space; one room has 2 sets of bunk style beds and one has a full size bed. One bathroom. It will be like summer camp! Long talks all night and giggles till the wee morning. This space will only be available to the first five signups and they will fill up! Once these beds are full (or if you do not want to stay in the cabin) do not worry! The Grant Oaks Lodge is conveniently located across the street and we'll provide you with a code for discounted prices.
Meals:
Most meals and snacks will be provided for Saturday thru Sunday afternoon. Saturday evening we will be ordering in so you are responsible for your meal. If you have any dietary restrictions please let us know when you sign up so that we may accommodate you.

Last month, we hosted our first Posing 101 Workshop. We wanted to tackle a ton of tough posing topics and give our students an awesome experience, so we really, really packed a lot in! We hope all of our attendees learned a ton! We always love hanging out with our peers! And these ladies are amazing!
It was a super busy day, but it was so much fun! We covered a ton of ground... we really wanted this workshop to be jam-packed! We started the day with an adorable newborn baby boy! If you have ever photographed a newborn before, you probably know how challenging it can be! Lucky for us, this sweet little boy was amazing! He slept through most of our demonstration! Total pro!
As soon as we finished the newborn session, we moved immediately into boudoir posing! Our model Corrina is absolutely gorgeous! We had the best time showing our attendees all of our favorite boudoir tips and tricks!
After a quick lunch break, we jumped right into senior posing with two of our favorite models Shannon and Kendra! We also rolled out this BEAUTIFUL classic car for some extra fun shots!
We wrapped up our senior session and started our Posing Children section! Lilly and Addie happen to belong to one of the Golden Girls, so they knew just what to do in front of the cameras! ;)
We drifted right into family posing when our next models arrived! Jamie and her children were so much fun!
By this time, we had all been on our feet for a million years and we were exhausted! We had one session left... couples! The second Anabella and her husband Miguel walked in, we were immediately re-energized! They looked so perfect together! It was so rad posing these two!
